Jenn and Jordan review four things we tend to do when we’re living in insecurity, caused by comparison, and how to release yourself from that trap.

Cliches about Comparison

You may have heard or seen these common saying floating around social media or other inspiring messages.

It’s not fair to compare

Comparison kills creativity

Comparison is the thief of joy

The grass is greener on the other side

While we might already know deep down that comparison isn’t helpful, we may not even realize it’s happening.

The thing we often feel first, is insecurity.

Insecurity causes us to take control back in unhealthy ways. Sometimes it comes out in anger, passive aggressiveness, over-explaining, trying harder to convince ourselves (and others) that we’re fine.

But living in insecurity can be destructive, both to our close relationships and ourselves. God made each of us with a unique purpose, and spending too much time worrying about others keeps us further from living fully free in that purpose.
