This morning, Asher woke up to find a note from the Tooth Fairy under his pillow and a bit of cash. He smiled and read her note carefully, then he gazed off with a wondering look.
“What are you thinking, son?”
“Ummm… I was just wondering if you are the Tooth Fairy.”
“What makes you think that?”
“My friend at school said she saw her Mommy take her tooth, and I thought you were doing that, too.”
I looked at him with a smile and knew this was the moment of truth.
“Son, when you grow up and have kids, you will want to make their experiences fun. I think you’re old enough to know that mommy and daddy have been giving you money and writing notes… we are the Tooth Fairy.”
He laughed in a way that settled his suspicions, but was glad to have the real operation revealed to him. It was a proud moment to be let in on the family secret.
I let him tell Chloe and she was equally pleased. They started plotting how they would make each other’s next tooth super special.
I am convinced that God reveals truth to us at the exact moment when our hearts are ready to receive it. He loves us and wants us to ask for good things. He wants us to ask for wisdom.
Ask Him to search your heart today, and allow His words to lovingly reveal the truth you need to hear. It may be difficult, it may be relieving, it may be the best thing you need to move forward. Trust His truth, because He loves you.
“Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” -Proverbs 4:6-7
